[Updated 11-05-05 1:30 pm] The fire at the School of Architecture is over. There is extensive damage but mainly limited to the lower part of the building. The taller part has suffered damage due to smoke and to some extent from water, but is expected to be usable again after sanitization.

The Stockholm Fire Brigade reports that the library is relatively undamaged. All servers are functional and all data has been backed up. KTH has not yet been allowed access to the building so there is no information regarding interior damage.

The fire was detected through an automatic alarm call at 7.10 am and was not under control until 7.30 pm. The sanitization process is expected to start on Monday.

During Thursday a meeting was held between students and staff at the School of Architecture and representatives of the school management, fire brigade, student union, occupational/student health services and the President of KTH. The main meeting was continued with smaller meetings between groups of students and teachers to discuss how to continue with teaching and studies as soon as possible. Any student who has questions should primarily address these to the responsible teacher.

Information will also be published on the School of Architecture website.

Another meeting for students and staff at the School of Architecture will take place Monday May 9 at 10 am in room F1, Lindstedtsvägen 22.
