How to use the PowerPoint template

Since June 2010, KTH has had a new standard template for PowerPoint presentations to be used in both external and internal contexts.

The template was updated in August 2010 with adjustments to the footer.

Save the template on your computer and then open the template in PowerPoint to create a new presentation. If you have a WIKS computer, the template can also be accessed via S:\STAFF\OFFICE\TEMPLATES\KTH

The logotype to be used in overhead presentations is the generic KTH logotype, in Swedish or in English. In cases where you want to show your school affiliation, there is space to write this in the footer.

Remember not to use too much text in PowerPoint presentations. It is difficult to read a lot of text on a computer or projector screen, and PowerPoint slides are primarily intended to contain brief main points.

KTH's template is designed so that the pages do not contain too much text and is based on bulleted lists. Presentations use the Verdana font since this is specifically designed for use in digital channels.

Using the template

The template has a number of layouts to choose from. These include a title page, where you can fill in the title of your talk.

Footer

The footer provides place to enter the date and also the name of the school or section. To enter information in the footer, select Insert and Header/Footer. Note that it is always the generic KTH logotype that is to be used in PowerPoint slides. Those who wish to show their school affiliation may do so in the footer.

Sender information in the footer should be as follows:

Date
KTH
School affiliation
www.kth.se

For those who do not require a footer in their presentations, a version of the template without the footer is available from August 2010. Select one of the layouts in "KTH - no footer" if you do not want to include footers in your presentations.

Collaboration partners

For those who want their presentation to indicate collaboration with other parties, there is a layout with space in the footer for up to three other logotypes. To insert these logotypes, click within the slide, find the logotype and select Insert.

Colours and Fonts

KTH's profile colours are found in the template's colour scheme. Colours are found in the "Font" pane on the "Home" tab. Please note that presentations made with the KTH PowerPoint template are only to use KTH's colours and fonts.

The Verdana font is the template's default setting and should not be changed.
