Programme websites & communication on programmes
All programmes at KTH has a web site where you are able to communicate with students, inform and discuss programme related issues. The goal is to improve the communication on programmes and make it easier to reach students with important information, and therefore decrease redundant emails, phone calls etc.
All programme webs are created automatically. Students and staff at KTH are able to use the programme web to communicate and share information.
Today the programme information is located in various places on KTH’s web and supported by different systems. Email is also often used to get information across. The goal is that the new progammes webs are going to be:
- The primary communication channel (replacing/ decrease bulk e-mails).
- An entrance to all programme information (from the programme webs there are links to other programme information, e.g. Student at KTH and the Course and programme directory.
You can find your programme web by searching for it, in your personal menu (the gray bar at the bottom of your web browser window) or by clicking on the link on your personal page (if you are a subscriber or an administrator on the programme web).
How do I use the programme web?
As a counselor, programme officer, master coordinator, administrator, program coordinator, teacher or other member of the staff that works with programmes, you are able to use the programme web as a tool to communicate with the students by e.g. creating posts or calendar events for meetings or reminders. By using the web you can streamline communication and decrease unnecessary emails. A post made in the programme web can in most cases replace emails and mailing lists.
If course and programme webs are used together students can find a lot of their course and programme related communication in one place, in their personal news feed (the subscriptions).
Administrators are also able to create links to important programme related information. Programme information from the Course and programme directory and Student at KTH are automatically linked in.
Programme events in the scheduling system TimeEdit will appear automatically in the calendar on the programme web. Administrators can also create calendar events directly in the programme calendar.
The programme Wiki can be used in numerous ways as it is an open communication channel. An example would be posting tips on education related information or for group classifications (e.g. the students themselves may sign up on the lists for information session / what group that would suit them best).
Become an administrator on the programme web
If you would like to become an administrator for a programme web contact another administrator (administrators are listed on the web). If no one has yet been added yet, email vcteam@kth.se.
