Electrified roads to support a sustainable transportation system
Smart roads can enable the dynamic charging of electrical vehicles while driving. For electrified road solutions to be sustainable, however, we have to rethink how we design, build and maintain our infrastructure. How do we implement such a new systems perspective?
Jenny Jerrelind, KTH
Improving tyres functionality by using wheel corner modules
The tyres on the vehicle is a key component in order to control the vehicle motion. By using wheel corner modules i.e. electric wheel motors at each wheel with integrated wheel suspension new possibilities arise to control the tyres functionality.
Kamyar Alavi, Nynas
Why would you have oil in a tyre?
More than what meets the naked eye - rolling black objects - tyres are complex technical constructions composed of many different parts, each with its own set of functional requirements. That rubber is a key material in this construction may not be difficult to see, but oil? Where, why and how much? Hopefully we'll be able to sort some of these questions out by the end of our presentation.
