Guest Lecture by Professor Yoshiyuki Sankai, University of Tsukuba, Japan, and CEO and President of CYBERDYNE Inc.

Pioneering the Future through Cybernics - Fusion of Human and Technology: Wearable Cyborg HAL, Clouds and other Cybernics Systems

Professor Sankai is perhaps best known for the powered exoskeleton suit HAL that is designed to support and expand the physical capabilities of its users, particularly people with physical disabilities.

After the 45 minute talk there will be a 15 minute questions and answers session.

Tid: Fr 2021-10-29 kl 10.00 - 11.00

Plats: Online event

Cybernics, a science and technology that fuses humans and AI robots/information systems,
realised the wearable cyborg HAL driven by bioelectrical signals derived from the brain-nervous system, as one of representative cybernics systems.

Cybernics technologies can interconnect brain-nervous systems, physiological and body systems to robots and clouds/supercomputers, and would revolutionise medicine, health care, daily life, and labor for a wide variety of people including the patients and the disabled.

This lecture is hosted by Professor Hedvig Kjellström. It is arranged by KTH, in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan to Sweden, IVA, Sweden-Japan Foundation, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Stockholm Office, and Digital Futures. The event will end with a 15 minute Q&A session.
