Viruses exploit the host metabolic machinery to meet their biosynthetic demands, making these host pathways potential therapeutic targets. His group works to understand how RNA viruses like HIV-1, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever Virus (CCHFV), and, more recently, SARS-CoV-2 exploit central carbon metabolism to evade or delay host antiviral response for its replication advantage. Ujjwal Neogi will present how integrative multi-omics studies can be used to understand virus biology comprehensively and develop antiviral strategies through metabolic perturbation against pathogenic viruses.
