Machine Learning for Waterinformatics

Time: Fri 2022-09-16 12.30 - 13.30

Location: Biomedicum room B0317 (KI Campus Solna, Solnavägen 9) & via Zoom

Participating: Amlan Chakrabarti, Calcutta University, India

Host

Susanne Löffler
AIMES @ KI & KTH

We are happy to welcome Amlan Chakrabarti to give a hybrid talk with the following abstract:

Over the past few years, there have been significant developments in modelling tools and applied methodologies for the examination of water science challenges. The Internet of Things (IoT), smart water management, and machine learning algorithms are a few of the intelligence-based technologies that are used to solve difficult hydrological and water resources engineering problems. Traditional approaches typically fall short of producing results that can be trusted because of the complexity and non-linearity of the behaviour of water resources engineering problems. On the other hand, informatics-based approaches, when combined with a thorough understanding of the physics of the problem, tend to provide a more trustworthy tool.
