Title
"Building Cirqle Biomedical: From biopolymer research to the development of a contraceptive"
Speaker
Thomas Crouzier, KTH Royal Institute of Technology
We are happy to welcome Thomas Crouzier to give a talk with the following abstract:
The Crouzier group at KTH and AIMES has been developing approaches to engineering the mucus gel that covers our wet epithelium. The discovery that the mucus barrier properties can be effectively reinforced by topical treatments with muco-adhesive polymers has led Dr. Crouzier to co-found Cirqle Biomedical, a startup developing a new on-demand, effective, safe and non-hormonal contraceptive for women.
Cirqle Biomedical has now signed a $370M co-development and licensing deal with Organon to further the development of the product. During this seminar, Dr. Crouzier will highlight the scientific and personal journey that led him to this entrepreneurial venture.
