Webinar title: “Partnerships in Global Health – Lessons learned ”
Speaker: Göran Tomson, Karolinska Institutet
Host: Ferdinand X. Choong

Time: Wed 2022-02-16 10.00 - 11.00

Location: Zoom

We are happy to welcome Göran Tomson to give a talk with the following abstract:

The UN Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals requires good partnerships. Global Health has a number of partnership challenges including power asymmetries, individual and institutional. Using personal experiences from two 10-year programmes in Lao PDR and Uganda respectively, partnership barriers and enablers will be explored. These cases will be contextualized into the ongoing debate and informed by existing partnership literature. Key concepts such as capacity, culture, fairness, mutual learning, power asymmetries, priority setting, research to policy, respect, transparency and trust will be addressed.
KI Strategy 2030 is well aligned with UN Agenda 2030 and emphasizes the need to be groundbreaking, engaged and global. AIMES research has potential to contribute to Global Public Goods. To develop and implement good partnerships globally is key.
