Music for the Royal Fireworks at the Royal Courtyard of KTH

It is a tradition that KTH (The Royal Institute of Technology) starts off its fall semester with a festive concert including this masterpiece by Handel; a tradition that begun in 2005 with the former KTH Director Musices Gunnar Julin. Apart from that we have a vast program, sure to appeal to all who hear.

The KTH Academic Orchestra will participate with about 80 musicians, for the first time including the string section. But we are also happily joined by The KMH Brass ensemble from The Royal College of Music. The Campus of The Royal College of Music is situated on Vallhallavägen not far from KTH.

And as always Kongliga Teknologkören, the official choir of the KTH student union, will sing both a capella and together with the orchestra.

Vocal soloist is Fabian Düberg. He is a student of The University College of Opera situated at our campus.

Tonight’s host is Christer Fuglesang, astronaut and professor in space science at KTH.

Our firework master is Peter Nordin from Uppsala.

Stage, sound and light, Robert Ricciuti (RandR).

I also want to express my gratitude to KTH:s IT and service section and to the ushers from the KTH student union.

The KTH Library café, at Osquars backe, is serving all evening.

We wish you a tremendous evening.
