Teaching and Learning Unite! - Getting started with Project Based Learning

The Unite! European University Alliance welcomes all partner’s teaching staff (including Ph.D. students and postdocs involved with teaching, lecturers, other teaching staff, as well as faculty) to a series of pedagogical events, a series of activities designed to share and develop teaching and learning in an international setting. The activities, courses and training events are run by pedagogical experts from the partner universities and are provided free of charge to the Unite! community.

Pedagogical Activity 7: Getting started with Project Based Learning
Hosting university: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC)

The activity will start the 26th of May 2021 (with some autonomous preparatory work).
Virtual sessions will be:
31th of May 2021 (10.00am - 11.30am CET).
2nd of June and 7th of June 2021 (10.00am - 12.00pm CET).
The activity will finish 15th of June 2021 (delivery of some autonomous work).

The aim of the workshop is to prepare participants to take the first steps in using project-based learning (PBL). The workshop will discuss the basics of the methodology and conduct an exercise for designing a modest PBL activity that incorporates the basic elements.

A successful participant will be able to:
● Define PBL and discuss its advantages and main difficulties.
● Explain the key elements to be considered when designing a PBL activity.
● Design a PBL activity that includes the key elements for success.

Target group: Faculty, lecturers and teachers of Unite! partner universities who do not have experience in using PBL and want to know about it and start using it.
