Since a few weeks, a working group at KTH has been dealing with the question on how to support students and researchers from Ukraine within the context of KTH’s operations.

“ The group coordinates issues raised by the war in Ukraine and looks for solutions on how to help refugees within the framework of KTH's mission in education and research,” says Fredrik Oldsjö, Deputy University Director and Head of the management office, who chairs the group's work.

The group otherwise consists of Maria Gustafsson, Head of Research Support Office and contact person for research issues, Katarina Jonsson Berglund, Head of Education Office and contact person for issues related to education, Annica Fröberg, Director of Personnel, Fredrik Karlsson, research ethics advisor, Maria Granath, Head of the Property Department, Kjell Carli, Communications Strategist, Jill Klackenberg, Management Communications Officer.

Annika Stensson Trigell, Vice President for Research, Stefan Östlund, Vice President for Global

Relations, Pär Jönsson Head of school ITM, and Nina Wormbs, researcher and contact person for Scholars at risk at KTH are involved when needed.

The group meets once a week, follows the development in Ukraine in general and what is happening in the sector in Sweden and in the rest of the world. The group reports regularly to the President and the management.

“ There is a very large commitment among KTH's employees to help those affected by the war. The working group will provide guidance on what efforts we can make as a university and inform about existing initiatives,” says Oldsjö.
