International and interdisciplinary sabbatical periods for teachers

KTH promotes teachers' international and interdisciplinary mobility through sabbatical periods. Sabbatical periods for teachers offers an opportunity for carreer development and strengthens renewal in the organization as well as the international presence of KTH.

In KTHs operation plan for 2022, it was decided on SEK 3 million per year during the period 2022 and 2023 for sabbatical periods for teachers. Before 2023, this investment will be discontinued. However, the funds that have not been used in 2022 can be used also during 2023.

Who can apply?

Early career teachers employed as Associate professor or Professor that need increased international and interdisciplinary mobility. Gender equality should be considered.

Application

Respective Head of school decides on whom should be granted a sabbatical period. Gender equality should be considered. For more information about application please contact the Head of your school:

Financing

A total of SEK 3 million is annually set a side during the period 2022-2023. The funds are distributed directly to the schools with SEK 600,000 per year.

Each school makes its own assessment of how and for what the funds should be used according to the direction for sabbatical periods specified in KTH's organizational plan for 2022.

Head of school reports annually to the President whom has been granted sabbatical periods.
