Amelie about SciLifeLab

Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about SciLifeLab and the development of Campus Solna.

In the past week, I have been to several meetings dealing with the development of SciLifeLab and Campus Solna. KTH has approximately 500 employees at Campus Solna, of which approximately half work at the CBH School. We have both staff who work within the national research infrastructure, and many research groups.

The activities at SciLifeLab have grown a lot in recent years, for example through special investments from the government in pandemic preparedness and precision medicine, and through the Wallenberg Foundation's major investment in data-driven life science. Questions that are up for discussion now are how to strengthen the connection between SciLifeLab's research and our educational programmes, how the problems with cramped premises can be solved, and which recruitments should be made in the next few years. SciLifeLab and Campus Solna are important parts of our school and I hope they will be able to develop well in the future too!
