It is time to start planning for the holidays, especially for the summer.
Depending on your employment type, different rules apply when applying for vacation according to KTH local union agreements.

This is called “vacation methods” and you see which holiday method you have and how many days you have in the self-reporting system under "my pages" -> "my holiday".

For those who have the pattern method or have a scholarship

  • You are not allowed to save vacation days in the self-reporting system, nor do you need to report your vacation days in the self-reporting system.
  • You are expected to take your vacation in consultation with your immediate supervisor or department head.
  • Scholarship holders will not receive any holiday allowance since it is included in your scholarship.

For those who have the form method

  • If you are entitled to more than 20 paid vacation days this year you must take at least 20 vacation days, but may save excess days.
  • You can save excess days in the self-reporting system until May 15th, after that date the option is no longer available. Saved days will then be consumed after the non-saved days are planned.
  • As of 2018-01-01, you may have a maximum of 30 days saved. If you have more than 30 days saved, you must use those days before 2022-12-31.
