Candidates for CBH's Strategic Council

Published May 24, 2022

It's time to choose a new strategic council for the CBH School. Five representatives for teachers and researchers, one representative for lecturers and one representative of technical and administrative staff shall be elected. Read more about all candidates below.

Eva-Rut Lindberg

I have extensive experience from KTH, both as a student and doctoral student at the School of Architecture and as an administrator for the doctoral program at the School of Technology and Health - now CBH. I am interested in developing the routines for teleworking for the administrative staff.

Paul Hudson

I am an associate professor and SciLifeLab Fellow in the Department of Protein Science, and have a background in chemical engineering and molecular biology. My research is in genetic engineering of bacteria for bio-refining of carbon dioxide. I wish to sit on the advisory council so as to help ensure that the research environment at CBH remains world class, and also to apply our considerable molecular biology expertise within applications of biosustainability.

Andrea Eriksson

Andrea Eriksson, docent and associate professor in Ergonomics, department of Biomedical Engineering and Health Systems, Flemingsberg. I teach and supervise at bachelor, master and PhD level, including lifelong learning courses. I also lead and participate in research projects on leadership, organization and health. I would like to participate in the Strategic Council to represent perspectives from Campus Flemingsberg as well as to represent perspectives and conditions to perform research and education at CBH.

Ibrahim Orhan

"Learning by doing" has been my mantra since I started working as a teacher at KTH in Haninge in 1998. Since 2015, I am the program manager for the 3-year engineering programme in Computer Science. For the program, it is important that students become skilled in applying technology and science.

There are many teachers who are passionate about the improvement of the 3-year engineering programmes and I do my part as responsible for Computer Engineering. In my background I have a licentiate degree and I have extensive experience in teaching. I am also a member of the GRU council (undergraduate education council) at CBH to represent the university engineering programs. By participating in the school's Strategic Council, I want to represent the university lecturers at CBH and also contribute to strengthening the university engineering programs' important contribution to society.

Helena Lundberg

I, Helena Lundberg, has been principal investigator and teacher at the Department of Chemistry since 2019 and am since early 2021 assistant professor and docent in organic chemistry. My research group targets the development of new methods for synthesis of organic compounds using catalysis and electrochemistry, with relevance for biomass valorization. I wish to join the Strategic Council to contribute to the CBH School's continued organizational and educational development. I believe that my perspective as young group leader with experience of course development and teaching at all cycles will contribute constructively to the council's work and I am very motivated to work structurally for the School's best in a different role than that of researcher and teacher.

Linda Fogelström

The experience I have gained from working in the management of larger initiatives such as WWSC and Treesearch, and also being part of the CBH Strategic council during the last period (which was the start-up phase for the council), has really reinforced my interest in strategic development. I feel like we have only just scratched the surface in identifying areas in need of continued strategic improvement, and starting up the hard work related to that. The ways of working within the council is something we have discussed a lot and aim to improve, especially regarding the contact area with the colleagues we represent, and the collection of information ideas from them. Therefore, I am highly motivated to continue the work as part of the CBH Strategic council.

Martina Lahmann

I am currently teaching foundation year (adjunct, tekniskt basår, maths, and chemistry) at KTH Flemingsberg. After almost 14 years as senior lecturer in organic chemistry at Bangor University, Wales, UK, I moved back to Stockholm about a year ago. Previously, I had been working at Gothenburg University (docent in chemistry, 2005) and Stockholm University where I collected my first experience teaching foundation year (naturvetenskapliga basår). I’m born in Germany where I received my PhD in chemistry in 1997. However, my higher education started with becoming a schoolteacher during the 80th (maths and music). I can be annoyingly curious but love my cat, playing violin, and golf.

Offering a sound education at the foundation level is important for KTH’s inclusive recruitment target and its standing in the HE market. As a newbie at KTH coming from a different HE environment, I was surprised to find the foundation-level education separated from other activities at KTH. Minimising these gaps, and moving towards a tighter long-term integration at both the programme and campus level, I see as a critical target for KTH’s future.

Stefania Giacomello

I am Associate Professor/Docent at the department of Gene Technology. I have a research lab located at SciLifeLab and I teach Bioinformatics at the courses BB2255 (Applied Gene Technology) and CB2040 (Applied Gene Technology and Large Scale Data Analysis) and I am also responsible for a Life Long Learning course. The research that my lab is conducting is highly related to sustainability aspects, which are of high importance to KTH, using the Spatial Transcriptomics technology that was developed at KTH. The type of research that my research group conducts is very collaborative and we have a network of renowned collaborators around the world (NASA, NIH, Max Planck, Umeå Plant Science Center, SLU-Uppsala, Karolinska Institute). I am also a member of the CBH School Assembly and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee at SciLifeLab.

I want to be part of the CBH Strategy Committee because my profile and activities allow me to create several bridges between research and education not only at KTH but also at the international level. I will be able to bring an international perspective to our CBH School for further improvement and at the same time contribute to solidify even more our cutting-edge research and educational programs. I am an advocate for open science, scientific reproducibility and healthy academic culture.

Markus Kärkäs

Personally, I believe that it is essential to discuss and be able to influence important issues regarding the CBH School's organization, education, budget and plans of various kinds. These are important matters for us teachers, researchers and the faculty, as well as of utmost importance for the development of the CBH School, given its size and geographical spread.

Raimund von der Emden

Through my many daily contacts with operations and operational support I have a good understanding for the importance of a common approach on processes and services. I’m happy to contribute with my experience, knowledge and skills.

Anna Tretjakova

I am Anna Tretjakova and I serve as Financial Officer at our school CBH. Before I served/worked at other universities in Sweden and did diverse administrative work, mainly in financial and HR area. I have Masters in Business Administration.
I would like YOU to choose ME to be a member of strategic committee of our school, because….
I believe that my competence and interest for efficient and effective administrative work and service as well as for sustainable management and leadership might serve YOUR interest best. I also think that my membership would bring me new interesting experiences.

Hanna Tegel

I have broad and long experience of working with both research and administrative tasks at KTH. During my years at KTH, I have worked in both small and large research projects and in addition, I have also worked a lot with recruitment, personnel matters, procurement and more. Thanks to these experiences, I will have a lot to contribute to the strategic and forward-looking work for CBH's best interests.
