Mikael on continuing as Head of School

Published Dec 15, 2021

Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about the decision that he may continue as Head of School for another four years and takes the opportunity to send a Christmas greeting to all employees at the CBH School.

This week, I received a message from the KTH President that I may continue as head of the CBH School for another four years. Many thanks to everyone at the CBH School for these four years that have passed and I look forward to four more years! You will also recognize our new Deputy Head of School, heads of departments, FA and GA, as they are the same people as today.

The decision in its entirety reads:

“The President decides to appoint Professor Mikael Lindström as head of the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health from 1 January 2022 and until 31 December 2025 at the latest. Professor Mikael Lindström was appointed head of the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health for the period 1 January 2018 and no later than 31 December 2021 (V-2017-0812). According to the rules of procedure at KTH (V-2021-0407), a Head of School may be appointed for a maximum period of four years and the appointment may be extended. However, the total period may not exceed eight years. According to the rules of procedure at KTH, a nomination group set up by the President must submit a proposal to the President as to who should be appointed Head of School. In the current case, the President has proposed that Professor Mikael Lindström be reappointed as Head of School. Through a simplified procedure, the nomination group has anchored the proposal within the school with various functions and key roles. Subsequently, the nomination group, through its chair, Professor Monica Ek, submitted a recommendation to the President to reappoint Professor Mikael Lindström as Head of School from 1 January 2022 and no later than 31 December 2025. The proposal for reappointment was collaborated in a central collaboration group on 9 December 2021.”

Finally, I would like to wish all CBH employees a calm and pleasant Christmas holiday. A big and heartfelt thank you for a very good collaboration and all the extra ordinary efforts during the year!

Mikael
