Mikael about lifelong learning at CBH

Published Nov 10, 2022

Head of school Mikael Lindström writes about lifelong learning where the CBH School has ambitious growth goals in the coming years.

At our last management group meeting, we invited our lifelong learning manager, Per Berglund, as KTH has an ambitious goal to grow within grant-funded further education. For the CBH School, this means an assignment for 2023 of 125 HST, provisionally 175 HST for 2024 and 225 HST for 2025. HST means full-year student and is equal to (=) the course's points * (number of registered students/60 credits). We will probably reach about 40 HST by 2022, so we have some way to go.

We discussed how our institutions can contribute and which courses CBH should provide as LLL courses. There will be lunch webinars for interested teachers (please see CBH news). As a funding model, CBH has chosen that the LLL compensation goes directly to the examiner, approximately SEK 105,000 per HST. Today there are many good examples and especially at MTH. An LLL course can be part of a program course and run parallel online where flexible online courses are prioritized. We have seen that communication to the expected target group is very important, where information about the course on KTH's website is a prerequisite. A lot of support is available and ask for help at: LLL@cbh.kth.se .
