Mikael on the re-examination period

Published Apr 16, 2020

Head of School Mikael Lindström informs about the ongoing re-examination period and the new solutions being tested by the hard working staff at CBH.

Dear colleagues,

I hope you have had a restful Easter despite the prevailing circumstances. I know that many teachers and educational functions have been busy preparing for the re-examination period that started on April 14. Since we do not have physical exams now, alternative solutions have been developed; with home exams, digital exams monitored via zoom, oral exams and various combinations of these solutions. A big thank you to everyone who makes it possible to maintain our education. After this period, it will be important to listen to the colleagues who have tried different solutions – about what has worked – before the regular exam period. I know, for example, that digital exam monitoring has been a challenge as there have been some technological shortcomings in some cases.

More and more people are telling me that it is tedious to work remotely, they miss their workmates and being in a context. Unfortunately, we will be in this situation for a while to come, so we must continue to help each other. There is a lot of activities going on like zoom-fika and slack groups. Feel free to share how you cope with the situation via CBH News ( cbh-nytt@cbh.kth.se ) and do not forget to look at our intranet where you can find help to facilitate working remotely.

I hope to see you all at our Zoom staff meetings at SciLifeLab Solna, Flemingsberg, AlbaNova and Valahallavägen. Invitations for each campus are available at Staff meetings in Zoom .

Take care!

Mikael
