Head of School Mikael Lindström writes about KTH's operational plan for 2021 and the implications for CBH.

On Tuesday, our President decided on KTH's operational plan for 2021. It contains strategic orientations and priorities for the university's operations and resource allocations for 2021.

The operational plan is based on KTH's development plan for 2018–2023 (decided by the University Board, minutes no. 8/2017, V-2017-0805). The development plan describes KTH's overall direction and goals in the longer term. Priorities, assignments and strategic investments in the operational plan aim for KTH to achieve the overall goals in the development plan.

An ambitious goal in the operational plan for 2021 is that of KTH's education volume, 20 percent shall be in lifelong learning from 2023. To achieve this goal, KTH needs to adapt both core activities and support activities in terms of administration, pedagogical development and resource allocation. To create support for our teachers, we at CBH have appointed Peta Sjölander as coordinator with responsibility for lifelong learning. The role involves coordinating and promoting lifelong learning efforts at the school. A warm welcome to the role of Peta!

Furthermore, the CBH School receives targeted start-up grants for new faculty positions that enable us to continue with our strategic development of the school in our areas of strength materials, health, environment and energy.

In the field of health, we can tell you that the Human Protein Atlas project has been around for 20 years. Congratulations to CBH professor Mathias Uhlén and staff! The Human Protein Atlas project is described as the body's equivalent of the periodic table.
