At the CBH School, a joint day for all research students is organized every year, called PhD Day. Following a reduction in the number of participants last year, a project group has been created with representatives from the doctoral studies coordinators, Service Center, HR and the PhD Council.

Doctoral studies coordinator Johanna Hagerman is the one responsible for organizing the group.

What is the overall goal of the PhD Day?

“The goal is for the doctoral students to have a day to meet and have fun together. At the same time, it is a good opportunity for us in administration to reach out with useful, practical information that the doctoral students can benefit from during their academic years, but also to inspire future job opportunities,” says Johanna Hagerman.

Why was a project group needed?

“I think it is necessary for it to be a well-organized event, and that time and money is spent to achieve this. The group will consist of the same parties that have been involved in previous years so that we are all involved in the planning, right from the start.”

How does the work progress and when will the day take place?

“The project group will get together for a first meeting in the next few weeks, so we are in the start-up phase. A venue for PhD Day is booked for October 2, 2020. The date may change but for now it is the date we are aiming for,” says Johanna Hagerman.
