Natalya Ivchenko has just started working at CBH. She will work as a lab safety coordinator.

“I’m really pleased to start working at CBH, I have cheerful, helpful and skilled colleagues. I started working part-time in August and since November 1, I work full time. I’ve had a good introduction from my predecessor and we will continue to cooperate in the future.”

What did you do before?
“I’ve been working at KTH for nearly 2.5 years now. I’ve been a teacher at the Technical Preparatory Year before – at ITM in Södertälje. Before that, I worked as a biomedical analysist at the Clinical Genetics department at Karolinska hospital for 14 years. I worked in the lab, was a Safety representative and was responsible for the handling of chemicals and waste, among other things. I have also defended my doctoral thesis in Physical Chemistry, I have a teacher’s education and have taught Physics and Chemistry.”

What do you work with at CBH?
“I work with everything that has to do with lab safety. I will mainly work at Valhallavägen but also in Flemingsberg, Kista, AlbaNova and SciLifeLab. I will be able to help with risk assessments if you are working in the lab and are pregnant or breastfeeding. I’m also working on developing a course about working with isocyanates and other allergenic substances. It will be offered to all KTH employees, hopefully from spring 2023.

You can turn to me in all matters that concern lab safety – general questions, lab safety at different campuses, risk assessments, purchase of new chemicals, waste, CMR investigations, phasing-out and KLARA.”
