Zofia on ”Zoom-fika”

Tips for working remotely

Published Mar 20, 2020

Under the prevailing circumstances, with many at CBH work from home, tips on how colleagues around the School make the situation more bearable are most welcome. First out is the Office of Student Affairs and Zofia Laine.

Zofia Laine.

"Now that we are not seeing on another on a daily basis, it can still be nice to check in with the colleagues. Staff at the Office of Student Affairs on Campus Valhallavägen have tried having “fika” (coffee break) together on Zoom and it works really well! We warmly recommend this as a great way of starting the day together."

Tips from us:

  • Don’t have groups of more than around 8 people, it easily becomes confuseing. The ideal seems to be 4-6 people.
  • We stick to 20-25 minutes.
  • It is possible to link up either via computer or mobile phone, both work equally well.
  • Make sure to have good lighting. For instance, if you have a window behind you it will cause backlighting and you will not appear on screen.
