After a cold and windy Easter weekend, it’s hard to imagine that summer will soon be here, yet you know that the coming months will fly by.
As usual, there is a lot to get through during the last two months of the term: in first and second cycle education, things are in full swing with courses, projects and dissertations to be completed before the end of the term, and in third-cycle education, many doctoral students are planning their public defences for the spring.
On the research side, work is underway on applications for the major funding bodies’ annual calls for proposals, and this year there is also intensive work taking place in larger consortia, where plans are being made to apply to form clusters of excellence in cutting-edge technology.
In the midst of all this, I’d still like to take the opportunity to promote something a little more social: Tuesday 12 May is the date for the CBH School’s after-work event once again! Just like last year, we’ll be at Proviant restaurant in Albano, and the school is treating us to drinks and light snacks. Take the opportunity to catch up with old and new colleagues, chat about summer plans and perhaps play a game or two. Last year’s after-work event was a great success and I hope many of you at the CBH School will join us again this year. A warm welcome to all!
