Congratulations to the three PhD students at the division of Software and Computer Systems recently received three best paper awards: Negar Safinianaini, Theo Vasiloudis and Mahmoud Ismail

Negar Safinianaini received the Mario Stefanelli award for the best student paper at the 17th Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine ( AIME 2019 ) for the paper – N. Safinianaini, H. Boström, V. Kaldo:

Theo Vasiloudis received the best short paper award at the 42nd International ACM SIGIR Conference on Research and Development in Information Retrieval ( SIGIR 2019 ​​​​​​​) for the paper T. Vasiloudis, H. Cho, H. Boström: Block-distributed Gradient Boosted Trees ​​​​​​​

​​​​​​​​​​​​Mahmoud Ismail received the best student paper award at the IEEE BigData Congress 2019 ​​​​​​​ for the paper M. Ismail, A. Bonds, S. Niazi, S. Haridi, J. Dowling: Scalable Block Reporting for HopsFS.
