We have talked to Bob Sturm, who, together with his band Irish Music Learners of Stockholm, will be in charge of the entertainment at the EECS Summer event on 8 June. For example, they will be playing tunes generated by computer algorithms in the style of Irish and Swedish traditional dance music.

Hi Bob! Your band will perform at the summer event; what do we have to look forward to?

"We will be playing tunes generated by my computer algorithms in the style of Irish and Swedish traditional dance music. We will also play some tunes with completely human origins for those who like that kind of thing."

Tell us a bit about your band.

"The five of us are Irish traditional dance music students and meet every Sunday at KTH to learn tunes. We play the accordion, flute, whistle, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar and bodhran."

What do you look forward to the most for the summer event?

"Bringing a close to the academic year with fellow colleagues."
