New calls for proposals made by the EU and the Swedish Energy Agency

CALL

Published Aug 27, 2020

It’s now time to prepare submissions for the ambitious initiatives announced by the Swedish Energy Agency and the EU (A European Green Deal). KTH’s Energy Platform and KTH Research Office stand ready to support work on your submissions.

“It’s not every day that we see major initiatives in the energy sector that are this long-term and this ambitious. This is an excellent opportunity for all KTH researchers who want to make an impact,” says Christophe Duwig, deputy director of KTH’s Energy Plattform.

Calls from the EU and the Swedish Energy Agency

The calls for proposals relate in part to the EU’s A European Green Deal initiative that, among other objectives, is intended to support the transition to a circular economy. Secondly, the Swedish Energy Agency’s investment in new competence centres in the energy sector is a long-term initiative to build up a strong network between academia and business.

“KTH researchers are well positioned to perform strongly in both these initiatives. However, there is very little time left to submit proposals which is why we’re putting extra focus on the Energy Platform to help researchers who wish to participate,” says Christophe.

The deadline for submissions for both initiatives is the beginning of next year. This is why KTH’s Energy Platform is working with KTH Research Office to provide support at every stage of the submissions process, including admin help and bringing together researchers and research groups that can be stronger together.

Apply for financial support for submission work

KTH’s Energy Platform also offers financial support for work on submissions or purchasing of external services. Grants are worth SEK 50,000 and initial contact regarding obtaining a grant should be made as soon as possible – preferably before September 30th, although this deadline is flexible.

Further information about the calls’ criteria will be published during the autumn. Energy Platform and KTH Research Office are, therefore, planning further digital seminars to respond to questions together with the respective institutions. Dates for the seminars will be published on KTH Energy Platform webpage.

KTH’s strategic partners will also be contacted to support submissions.

“We hope to be able to arrange a kind of speed-dating between KTH’s strategic partners and researchers looking for support. We can also help researchers expand their contact networks by getting together researchers working within complementary fields,” says Christophe.

Another tip for researchers who want to find the right partner prior to making a submission is to publish an ad on the Crowdhelix website . KTH employees can post ads on the site free of charge.
