Open call for Platform Support

This is an open call for KTH Digitalization Platform with two cut-off dates per year. Next cut-off deadlines will be 10 June, 2022. Early career researchers are strongly encouraged to apply.

Goals

The platform aims to support any activity that serves atleast one, preferably more of the following goals:

  1. Stimulate, facilitate and/or initiate multidisciplinary research activities
  2. Increase external funding by promoting successful research applications
  3. Build and maintain external and internal relations
  4. Enhance external KTH visibility, recognition and impact
  5. Support of strategic outlook events or activities

Implementation

  • Ranking of proposals according to criteria (proposals independently reviewed by director and deputies), minimum scores on criteria
  • Two cut-off dates per year
  • Ask for a requested amount
  • Granted amount depends on activity, average expected grant is 50kkr. Requests for larger sums will be considered depending on fulfillment of criteria and stated goals.
  • Purpose of the money should be clearly justified

Please note that the grant is not sustainable funding for research activities.

Criteria

Relevance

Is the activity in the digitalization domain and are KTH researcher(s) the main organisers?

  • Digitalization domain: (0: No, 1: Yes - min 1)
  • KTH researcher (0: No, 1: Yes – min 1)

Need

Is there a need for financial support and is the sponsoring wisely spend (assess also what is done with a potential surplus)?

(0: no need & bad investment … 4: urgent need & valuable investment – min 2)

Promotion

Will the KTHs Digitalisation research environment (e.g. the platform) be promoted?

 (0: badly promoted … 4: excellently promoted – min 2)

Value

Will the event be valuable for KTH researchers, environment, and/or platform?

 (0: no value … 4: very high value, e.g relevant for many researchers, flagship event in the area, strategically for KTH, cross-disciplinary, involves researchers from different schools, … - min 2)

How to apply

Applications should briefly describe the activity and explicitly reflect on how their conference will satisfy the four outlined criteria, and how it will meet the goals stated. The application should be sent to the platform director, digitalizationplatform@kth.se .

Report request

After the event the following is requsted: 

  1. Brief reflection how the money was used/what it has enabled
  2. Brief reflection on the value for KTH and how the goals were addressed.
  3. Brief reflection on how the platform was promoted (including links, flyer pdf or a picture) including a picture of the event that is free to use (if applicable)
