Dialogue seminar: Does nuclear power have a role to play in the climate transition?
What should the composition of our energy portfolio be to best address climate change? The energy debate is at times harsh, especially about the role of nuclear power in the energy mix of the future – but what does the research say? KTH Energy Platform is hosting a digital seminar on the future’s energy portfolio on Thursday, 16 December, 2021, 10am to 12pm.
Will we be able to switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources without increasing our use of nuclear power? What is the actual potential of expanding solar, wind and hydropower from an international perspective? And what role should Sweden play in the international energy market?
KTH Energy Platform is holding a dialogue seminar with an in-depth debate on the energy portfolio of the future.
“We are witnessing a robust public debate about how the future energy portfolio should look and that’s good. But at the same time, we need more arenas for dialogue where researchers and experts from the business community are able to speak. We need to anchor debate in knowledge and give it an international perspective,” says Lina Bertling Tjernberg, Professor in Power Grid Technology, KTH and KTH Energy Platform Director.
