LINXS webinar series

Published Apr 15, 2021

Welcome to a LINXS webinar series introducing the latest scientific breakthroughs and developments at large scale research facilities from all over the world. For the first time, Science Directors from different x-ray and neutron facilities will explore – together with the participants - the science, the methods, the applications and the collaborations carried out at their research site.

When completed, the webinar series will form the basis of a digital library available through LINXS website – with an aim to support and guide users of large scale research facilities to find the right beamline/s for their science. The webinar series supports LINXS’ goal to create a digital platform where researchers can connect, collaborate and stay up-to-date on the latest scientific challenges currently facing large scale research facilities.

AREAS THAT WILL BE COVERED DURING THE WEBINARS INCLUDE:

  • Introduction of the photon/neutron sources, beamlines and machinery available at the different large scale research facilities.

  • Science and scientific breakthroughs at different large scale research facilities and collaborations with academia/industry

  • Future perspectives: work-flow before and after covid-19

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The webinars are free to attend and open to researchers from all around the world from both academia and industry.

It is advisable to have at least basic knowledge of x-ray and neutron science. For an introductory overview, please check out the lectures in our previous seminar series, Let’s Dive into the Atoms! (https://www.linxs.se/linxs-webinar-series-lets-dive-into-the-atoms)

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM THE WEBINARS?

  • Researchers who are interested in the scientific breakthroughs at different large scale research facilities.

  • Researchers who want to learn more about the multidisciplinary science and opportunities for collaborations available at different large scale research facilities.

  • Researchers who wish to integrate neutron and x-ray methods into their research and need to connect with experts in the field.

  • Researchers who wish to learn more about the physical aspects of the photon/neutron sources and the beamlines and machinery available at the different large scale research facilities.

TIMELINE
Events will be created continuously during 2021. Each webinar will run from 35 to 40 minutes followed by questions from the participants.
We hope to record all the webinars so that they can be available on the LINXS website, under Educational material.
