Why is the industry's transformation to meet climate change in a competitive manner important to you?

We need to avoid unnecessary competition since it can lead to wasted resources. However, I believe we can get some innovative ideas and insights in this manner sometimes. We are facing climate change now, and it is time to bring some innovative ideas for this situation. So, I think it is very important to have a competitive manner from the industry's transformation to meet climate change.

How are you contributing to the transformation?

My main research topics are manufacturing simulation and digitalization in production logistics. Therefore, I’m contributing to this transformation by developing technologies and finding applications in production logistics with digitalization (or digital transformation).

What do you hope to have achieved with your research in 10 years?

Like other research fields, it is not easy to make a big change or contribution only from academia. I think that strong connection with industry is necessary for this field. I would like to achieve not only from my research field but also to run the business model provides services that can contribute to transformation based on my research.

What do you wish KTH to contribute with in regard to competitive industry transformation?

I personally believe KTH should provide innovative and sustainable ideas to the society as a university and a research institute. Companies from the industry are forced to focus on their profits in the short term. But KTH has excellent students, faculty members, other resources, and also strong network to the industry. Therefore, I think KTH should contribute as a testbed that can test and prove sustainable and innovative ideas.
