Winter time packed with research focus and initiatives to support & strengthen energy collaboration
Our work within KTH’s Energy Platform will continue in digital form throughout the spring semester. Although many of us long to return to campus, I hope we will continue to take care of each other to the best of our ability.
Intensive efforts are currently underway on applications, especially with those for the Swedish Energy Agency’s investment in new competence centres in the energy segment. The deadline for the principal’s signature before submissions is 15 May.
KTH’s Energy Platform can contribute to these efforts by, among other things, outlining issues and making suggestions for partners. Our aim is to be an open and inclusive place, which develops new collaborations that support research in the energy field.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Pierre Bodin to the Research Office (RO), where he will co-ordinate KTH’s energy portfolio, ( you can read an interview with him here ). We are currently planning an open meeting with the Research Office (RSO) to support ongoing initiatives for the KC’s call for proposals. All are welcome to join a meeting on February 15th ( read more ).
Just before the end of last year, we made a similar contribution to the application work for the EU’s European Green Deal initiative. These efforts were very successful, with several applications submitted, and EECS and ITM, amongst others, coming into contact with each other through a joint application.
At the beginning of January, the Energy Platform organized a workshop that brought together key researchers in the field of energy from all over the country to contribute to the work on Sweden’s national electrification strategy. This resulted in more concrete proposals to increase the pace of the country’s electrification - you can read an article from the workshop here .

Last but not least, I would like to remind you of this year’s KTH Energy Dialogue, which kicks off on November 18th - and hopefully, it will be held on campus again. If you have ideas or suggestions for the programme, or want to get involved in the planning of the event, feel free to contact me!
