Incomplete application will be rejected

The appropriation is made available to the President to primarily be used for scholarships for such trips, which best promote a personal scientific exchange for the benefit of Swedish research. The scholarship is primarily to be granted to younger researchers, whereby the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation would like to see that the amounts distributed in each particular case cover at least a substantial part of the travel expenses. The Foundation has no objections to the funds being used exceptionally to finance visits by foreign guest researchers.

Scholarships can be applied for at any time during the year. Apply well in advance of your trip. The application must not be made retroactively, i.e. after the journey has begun or is already completed. New for this year is that decisions will be made four times a year (March, June, September and December).

A budget form must be completed and attached with the application. Fill in the budget form and save it in a document together with the budget attachments before filling in your application (file format pdf or excel). The budget should be based on expected real travel costs. Please note that all trips must be booked in accordance with KTH's travel guidelines. Other costs are both specified and justified. It is only possible to be granted one scholarship per call from the Jubilee grant. Postgraduate students with an oral presentation are given priority. Scholarships can be given up to a maximum of SEK 20,000 per trip.

Doctoral students must submit letters of recommendation from their main supervisor. The supervisor only has the opportunity to write letter of recommendation to two of his PhD students per registration number (diarienummer) to the Jubilee appropriation (the announcement of the year is between June and May). In the case of more applications with recommendation letters from the same supervisor, these applications will be rejected.

Change of trip is not granted. Scholarships granted which are not used for the purpose sought must be refunded. Granted scholarships are requested by the school's finance function and this must be done within six months of the decision date.
