This is an example how to copy e-mail and mailfolders from one mailaccount to another. In this example Thunderbird is shown, but the procedure is similar in most other applications.

If you change the solution or delivery from where your e-mail is read there is an easy way to copy e-mail and mailfolders to the new system.

The instruction is made in Thunderbird but the procedure is similar in most applications.

Create the new account

Start with connecting to your new mailaccount in the same application from where you are reading your present e-mail so that both accounts is vivible in the same application (in this case in Thunderbird).

Guides and settings can be found here Settings for Thunderbird

When tis step is finnished and both accounts are connected you can copy e-mail and mailfolders.

Copy folders

Mark the folder you want to copy in the old mailbox with the left mousebutton. keep that button pressed and drag the folder to the new mailbox. Press CTRL on your keyboard to copy the folder. If that key is not pressed the folder and all e-mail inside the folder will me moved instead (removed from the old mailsystem).

Do this for every folder that is to be copied.

Copy mail but not folders

To copy mail but not the whole folder you can mark one or several e-mails and do the same drag and drop procedure as above. To mark several e-mails you press CTRL on your keyboard and mark e-mails one by one, or you mark one e-mail and press SHIFT and mark the last mail in a list you want to copy. That will mark all e-mails in between.

Mark the e-mail that you want to copy with the left mousebutton, keep the button pressed and drag the e-mails to the new mailbox and folder the will end up in.

Press CTRL on your keyboard to copy these e-mails. If that key is not pressed these e-mail will me moved instead (removed from the old mailsystem).

Do this for all e-mail that is to be copied.
