Finnveden leaves his position as Vice President

After almost ten years Göran Finnveden leaves his position as Vice President for Sustainable Development at KTH. “He has done a tremendous job and implemented changes that mean we are well positioned to take the next step in efforts to further integrate sustainable development into research, education and partnerships,” says KTH President Sigbritt Karlsson. Climate Adaptation

Are you a KTH researcher and address Climate Adaptation in your research?
KTH Sustainability Office is investigating interest for a research network with climate adaptation as the common denominator. The aim is to increase the research for climate adaptation and create new interdisciplinary collaborations. Please fill in this survey and help us getting an overview; we are planning for cross-disciplinar activites in the area during the spring. Deadline 25 January.
 

Digital Science Week 3-5 February

  Science week is a forum that drives the transition to a sustainable world by creating participation, discussion and opinion on the most important issues of our time. Welcome to participate in live digital seminars, panel discussions and workshops between 3-5 February. Read the program and sign up
 

Online launch events for Horizon Europe, 2 February (EC) and 10 February (Vinnova)

  The EU Commission is planning a virtual launch event for the new framework programme Horizon Europe on 2 February 2021. More information on how to participate and register will be available here

Vinnova will host a national launch event on 10 February 09.30 - 16.30. Read more and register here
 

Workshops: Improve your Formas application, 12 and 24 Mars Workshop Part 1 - Introduction, 12 Mars

  Welcome to a workshop for researchers who plan to apply for Formas Open Call 2021. At the workshop we will focus on the criteria for societal relevance: Societal value of research question and Communication with stakeholders and users. Researchers at KTH, who has received high scores for societal relevance in previous calls, present their best way to address the criteria successfully. Time: Wed 2021-03-12 10.00 – 12.00

Workshop part 2 - Hands-on, 24 Mars
Welcome to a hands-on workshop for improving the criteria for societal relevance in the Formas Open Call 2021. Researchers from KTH, who have been successful in previous calls, will present how to best tackle the criteria for societal relevance with focus on the communication with stakeholders and users.

KTH has compiled a report highlighting some of the ways KTH contributes to UN's Sustainable development Goals. 2019 is the first year of reporting and the report will be further developed. Read the report here.

KTH:s miljöledningssytem

Nytt Lagbevakningssystem på KTH

KTH byter leverantör av lagbevakningssystem fr.o.m. 4 januari 2021 till WSP - rådgivare och konsulter inom miljö och samhällsutveckling. WSP Lagbevakningssystemet är ett webbverktyg där de lagar, förordningar och andra krav som KTH omfattas av inom yttre miljö finns förtecknade. Webbverktyget med laglistor är behjälpligt i att lagar, förordningar och andra krav hålls uppdaterade och aktuella. Alla skolor och Gemensamt verksamhetsstöd(GVS) har en egen förteckning över de bindande krav man omfattas av och hur kraven uppfylls. Alla anställda kan logga in och ta del av informationen.

Förteckningen för skolorna/GVS administreras av skolornas kontaktpersoner på KTH Sustainability Office. Mer information om lagar och bindande krav samt lagbevakning här
 

KTH:s klimatberäkning, 18 februari

Välkommen till en öppen genomgång av resultat och analys av klimatberäkning av KTH:s verksamhet den 18 februari, kl.15:00-17:00. På webinariet kommer miljökonsulterna 2050 presentera klimatberäkningsrapporten där resultat, analys samt olika kvantifierade åtgärder ingår. Jämförelser över tid ( år 2015 och 2019), aggregerade resultat och resultat på skolnivå kommer också att presenteras. Mer information och anmälan här

Den 10 Mars kommer berörda funktioner och ansvariga personer från KTH:s skolor och GVS bjudas in för att delta i en workshop kring implementering av resultat i verksamheten för att uppnå KTH:s klimatmål. 

External environmental re-certification Audit, 19-22 April

In April a re-certification audit will be conducted which shall cover the entire KTH. The purpose is to assess how well the environmental management system is integrated and performing and progressing at KTH. Audits are conducted annually while re-certification audits are every third year. Previous certification audits have been in 2015 and 2018.

KTH Sustainability Office is coordinating the audit together with the certification body Qualify and leadership at KTH to identify which functions and parts of KTH will participate. The 2021 re-certification audit will focus on: changes in processes and routines, leadership engagement, campuses and specific departments at KTH schools and GVS.
