About the school's Faculty Board

In June 2023, the President appointed a working group whose task is to submit proposals for how a new preparatory and decision-making collegial body within each school should look in terms of composition, quorum and tasks, as well as proposals for the election procedure for the board and how the chairperson is appointed (V-2023-0078).

The board must be a collegial preparatory and decision-making body that handles tasks that require scientific or artistic competence (chapter 2, section 6 of the Higher Education Act). The working name of this board is "the School's Faculty Board".

The School’s Faculty Board shall be chaired by the head of school, who shall be chairperson and consist of six teacher members, of which one vice-chairperson, two external members and two student members. Representatives from the employee organisations have the right to attend and speak.

The working group submits proposals concerning issues that the University Board and the President are to decide on at different occasions during the fall semester 2023. In parallel with the work, preparation for the election of teachers’ representatives for the Election Committee needs to be made and elections carried out. The School’s Faculty Board shall be established from 1 January 2024, provided that the University Board and the President decide on it.

Teachers’ representatives are to be elected for the period January 2024 - December 2026 through an election. The election is conducted electronically during the period 4-10 December 2023. Information about the election will be publicised within KTH on the intranet and sent by e-mail to those with voting rights.
