Broader recruitment (Priority group)

Today, certain groups in society are underrepresented in Swedish higher education. In order to make the student composition reflect the surrounding society, KTH works with broadened recruitment, broadened participation, validation and assessment of real competence.

Broader recruitment

Broader recruitment and participation is a mission based on the Higher Education Act. We will be an inclusive, open and accessible university for everyone regardless of background.

DRAFT AGENDA

Mentoring programme & continuous feedback mechanism: links to PROSAM courses

We are doing a little stocktaking round to hear how existing PROSAM courses are implemented, what opportunities or bottlenecks faculty and Program Directors see for a more structurally broadened participation activity.

Primary schools: PRAO@KTH

We have planned a first pilot in May, possibly it needs to be moved to autumn depending on Stockholm City council planning.

Skärrtorp Spetsgymnasium

We received approval just before Christmas that Skärrtorp Gymnasium can become a top school together with KTH. We are creating internal procedures that will promote engagement from our teachers and simplify the collaboration, while we have an ongoing dialogue with the high school to create a solid engineering program and a sustainable collaboration.

Non-regional recruitment

We have a dialogue going on with NITUS, a network of learning centres, to see if we can start a pilot on collaboration between local industry, learning centres and KTH.

Preparation of the presentation to the Board of Education meeting

On 25th May we will have an opportunity to present the work of the Priority group to the Board of Education.
