The organisation of education at KTH

Here you will find an overview of the main bodies which make up the organisation of education activities on a university-wide level at KTH.

Board of Education

The Board of Education is KTH’s highest organ for preparation of university-wide education issues. The Board of Education has three committees of a more operative character. In the committees, questions are raised either on their own initiative or by request from the board of education. The Faculty Council

The Faculty council has an overall responsibility to improve the quality of KTHs education, research and collaboration with society as well as recruitment and promotion processes of teacher positions. Furthermore, the Faculty Council advises the president regarding strategic and ethical questions. The Faculty Council’s responsibilities related to education is, among others, to:

  • manage and improve the quality system of KTH,
  • act as a link between KTH’s management and teachers,
  • be responsible for creating good conditions for cross-disciplinary exchange.

The IT Platform for Education

 The steering group of KTH's platform for the digitalisation of education coordinates the investments made in the area of ​​e-learning and study administration.

Due to the corona pandemic, a special Working Group on Digitalisation of Education (AG)  was set up to gather resources in a crisis to support the transition to digital education.

The cross-functional approach initiated by AG during the corona crisis continues with the platform's project office. One of the project office's assignments is to support the development and coordination of local teacher-oriented support in the schools.

University-wide arenas for educational development

At KTH there are many possibilities to network and discuss questions regarding first, second and third cycle education. For academic leaders there are special networks for exchanging experiences and collaborations regarding education development. Since study period 4 in 2020 there are regular open network meetings on Zoom that everyone at KTH are welcome to attend.
