KTH climbs higher in environmental rankings
KTH has secured a higher environmental ranking according to a recent review of the environmental performances of governmental agencies in Sweden. The review, conducted by The Environmental Protection Agency places KTH only one point from a top environmental ranking. Read

KTH collaborative initiatives nominated for ISCN Awards
Two initiatives from KTH have been nominated for The International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN) Awards 2014. KTH's parallel computer centre (PDC) at CSC school has been nominated in the Building category. PDC has developed a system to use heat recovered from the Center to heat the Chemistry building at KTH. Learning for sustainable development , a pedagogical course for teachers, Introduction to sustainable development course module and The Toolbox for Education in Sustainable Development have been recognized together as outstanding examples of Integration of the environment and sustainability in education. These educational initiatives are the products of collaborations and initiatives between CHE, ITM, ABE and ECE schools.

Björn Frostell named Professor of Industrial Ecology
Department of Sustainable development, environmental science and engineering has announced the appointment of Björn Frostell as Professor of Industrial Ecology. He is one of the key drivers behind the development of the metabolic approach, which is a central part of the research perspective at the unit. He is also one of the unit of Industrial Ecology’s most appreciated teachers, supervisors and researchers. Read more here.

Nominate: The King’s Professor of Environmental Science
The King Carl XVI Gustaf Professor of Environmental Science is a visiting professorship of environmental science. Every year KTH is welcome to nominate one outstanding foreign scientist for the professorship 2015/16. The foundation grants a one-time grant of 1.2 million SEK that can be used to cover the salary, travel or accommodation for a guest professor. Please see attachment (swe) for more details. Please send nominations including the CV of the nominated and a motivation to sustainability@kth.se by May 1st, 2014.
