Communicating your Research

Are you interested in reaching out to a broader public with your research? Are you trying to communicate with journalists, other researchers or other universities? By choosing the appropriate channel, you will reach the right target group and thereby reinforce your message. KTH:s department of communication has now compiled helpful tips for how you can effectively communicate your research. Follow this link for more information!

f3 Research Call – renewable fuels

You can apply for funding through the program, “Förnybara drivmedel och system” (collaboration between Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Knowledge Center for Renewable transportation fuels - f3). The call for proposals occurs twice a year and totals 11 million SEK/year. Apply here: deadline, September 24  (swe).

Science & SciLifeLab prize for young scientists

Apply for the Science & SciLifeLab prize for young scientists . The US $25,000 grand prize is awarded annually to four young scientists for outstanding life science research for which he/she was awarded a doctoral degree in the previous year. The topic of the entrant’s thesis research must be in one of the following categories: Cell and Developmental Biology; Genomics and Proteomics; Environment; Translational Medicine. Webinar: “Design for Recycling”, August 27

KTH Life Cycle Network invites participants to a webinar August 2th. Taina Flink, Design for Recycling Specialist at Stena Recycling, will present how industrial recycling works in Sweden. The seminar will also address how conscious design choices in early stages of product development affect the recycling rate of products, contributing to more sustainable end of use. Seminar: Beyond recycling in the lunchroom, August 28^th

What does it mean to be a Sustainable Practitioner? And how do we educate for that? KTH-Sustainability welcomes Prof. Samuel Mann from Otago Polytechnic, New Zealand to KTH to discuss these questions and more. In 2007, Otago Polytechnic committed to a goal of “every graduate may think and act as a sustainable practitioner”. On August 28th Prof Mann will talk about their progress with their goal and tell us about the range of disciplinary based, cross-discipline, top-down and bottom-up initiatives they have taken to meet this objective.
