The Campus Plan

The Campus Plan shows how KTH Campus will develop in the future. The plan includes new student accommodations, educational facilities and the development of green spaces. Other upcoming projects are the new venue for art and science which will be housed in the former heating plant and the new KTH–square. Read more here (swe).

KTH-Sustainability Education Day

On March 20th KTH-Sustainability hosted an afternoon focusing on the integration of environment and sustainable development in education. Thank you to all the KTH teachers and visiting colleges who shared their experiences and ideas for sustainability teaching and learning in higher education. Vice President for Sustainable Development among most influential in environmental field

Miljöaktuellt, Scandinavia’s largest environmental news magazine has recognized KTH’s Vice president for Sustainable Development, Prof. Göran Finnveden as one of Sweden’s most influential in the field of environment. Prof. Finnveden nomination was based on his knowledge and passion for environmental issues as well as for his international standing. See the entire list here.

Solar-powered charging station now on KTH Campus

Welcome to Drottning Kristinas väg 25 to charge your electric vehicles with locally generated energy! The city center’s first solar charging station was inaugurated on KTH Campus. Vice President for Sustainable Development Prof. Finnveden explained to Campi , that having the charging station at KTH is special not only because KTH conducts excellent solar research but also because it “… is an important part of a sustainable and vibrant campus”.

Communication skills are critical to gaining support from decision-makers in government and industry. Innovative research solutions created to address contemporary challenges must be effectively disseminated in order to contribute to a sustainable society. This multidisciplinary PhD course teaches the skills required to reach out successfully with your research. Deadline for application is March 23, 2014.

Nominate: The King’s Professor of Environmental Science 2015/2016

The King Carl XVI Gustaf Professor of Environmental Science is a visiting professorship of environmental science. Every year KTH is welcome to nominate one outstanding foreign scientist for the professorship 2015/16. The foundation grants a one-time grant of 1.2 million SEK that can be used to cover the salary, travel or accommodation for a guest professor. Please see attachment (swe) for more details. Please send nominations including the CV of the nominated and a motivation to sustainability@kth.se by May 1st, 2014.

KTH students honored at Universum’s Student Awards 2014

Congratulations to two students recognized for their outstanding work and dedication at the recent Universum Student Awards. Malin Cronqvist , co-founder of the help organization Help to Help  has been named "Innovative Student of the Year"  . Signe Åkerblom , from the Sustainable Energy Engineering, masters programs was named “Engineering Student of the Year”.
