Results-External environmental certification audit
An external environmental audit of KTH's environmental management system was conducted in April. Overall the external environmental audit highlighted 37 positive observations and 22 suggestions for improvements. The results show that a systematic environmental management is in place but there is still work to be done in order to achieve our sustainability objectives by 2020.

During the next review in spring 2018, the auditors will examine how work with the environment and sustainability is integrated into KTH's new organization and how KTH has transitioned to meet the new requirements outlined in the updated version of ISO 14001. The updated standard focuses, among other things, on strengthening leadership for sustainable development, integrating environmental and sustainability issues into business processes and identifying risks and opportunities. Bring your bike to Bike Day, May 16
Welcome to KTH Entré Square for a cycling day at the KTH Campus. This year you can bring your bike to the Pop-up bike workshop where two bike mechanics will help you fix your bike. The workshop has room for about 20 bikes so don't be shy! Alien Bikes are back with their crazy bikes for you to try and you can also enter to win bikes. 1st prize is a grand slam upcycled bike. We also have more upcycled bikes to give away.

Science Café- Let's Talk about biking and sustainable transport
Let's talk about biking and sustainable transportation. Did you know that one year commuting with an electric bike has less climate impact than one single day’s commuting with a car? Furthermore, you save both time and money. Welcome to aScience Café on biking and sustainable transport at Open Café at 10.15-11.00. Discuss cycling and sustainable transport with researchers Teo Enlund, Mia Hesselgren and Hanna Hasselqvist from A Car Free Year.

KTH Placemaking week, 16-17 May
Come and explore the campus on the 16th and 17th of May to discover inspiring sustainability campus projects by KTH students. Follow the colorful routes on the ground to discover projects and activities: KTH's beehives, discover how to give your food scraps a second life or just sit down anywhere outside in colorful chairs!

KTH Placemaking week is an initiative by students from the Urbanism Studies master, the Centre for the Future of Places, Stipo Netherlands, Landskapslaget and other KTH students engaged in sustainability issues. The event is proudly supported by Akademiska Hus and the KTH Sustainability Office. www.kth.se/om/miljo-hallbar-utveckling/event-semiarier/kth-placemaking-week-16-17-may-1.726349

Sustainable Meetings at KTH
Every year KTH employees organise a large number of meetings, both large and small. Meetings are important for building new partnerships and finding solutions to societal challenges, but at the same time physical meetings have an environmental impact. By making right choices when organising meetings, we can contribute to sustainable development while reducing the negative impact. The Conference and Event group has developed a checklist on how to organise meetings with the least possible negative impact on our environment and are happy to advise KTH employees to facilitate the work.
