Crosstalks

Crosstalks is a high quality and new form of international academic live talk show. Two of Sweden’s leading universities – KTH and Stockholm University – are working together to highlight cutting-edge content from the academic, business and cultural life. The first Crosstalks was sent yesterday, discussing topics of ‘How can we save capitalism?’, ‘The battle for entrepreneurs’ and ‘How to save the world’. Two KTH researchers were taking part in the first Crosstalks, Åsa Moberg, Head of Environmental Strategies Research (fms), and Pontus Braunerhjelm, professor in Economics.  

Energy Dialogue 2012

The KTH Energy Dialogue, hosted by the Energy Platform, is an annual event aimed at profiling the wide range of energy-related research being conducted in KTH’s various schools and programmes. The Energy Dialogue is a great forum to discuss challenges, possibilities and new research in the energy sector, and hopefully it will lead to many exciting project ideas. NOTIS Project kick-off and inspiration mingle

November 22 at 15.00-18.00, Lecture Hall K1, Teknikringen 56, KTH Campus Valhallavägen
KTH and SU have together received 14.5 million SEK by the European Social Fund to run a project to improve teachers and researchers profession related skills: "NOTIS – naturvetenskap och teknik i samhället” (science and technology in society).  The project is aimed at researchers and teachers at KTH and the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University and runs from 2012 to 2014. World Energy Outlook 2012

Dr. Fatih Birol, chief economist of International Energy Agency will present their yearly World Energy Outlook 2012, containing scenarios and analyses of how the world’s energy supplies will be developed until 2035. More information

Renovering av flerbostadshus för ett hållbart samhälle (Renovation of apartment buildings for a sustainable society)

Svenska gruppen inom CIB / IABSE / RILEM (CIR) i samarbete med KTH och E2ReBuild bjuder in till seminarium om renovering av flerbostadshus för ett hållbart samhälle. Vid seminariet kommer forskare (bl. a. Tove Malmqvist och Folke Björk från KTH) att presentera färska projekt med olika aktuella aspekter på renovering. Programme and registration (In Swedish)

Surviving the Anthropocene: Towards Global Sustainability

Welcome to an open seminar hosted by the Division of Environmental Strategies Research (fms) in cooperation with KTH-Sustainability. Invited speaker is Professor Will Steffen, Executive Director of Climate Change Institute at The Australian National University, and senior research fellow at Stockholm Resilience Center.

Engineering Education for Sustainable Development

Sept 22-25, 2013. Cambridge, UK
This is the 6th international conference on Engineering Education for Sustainable Development - EESD'13 . Theme of the conference is 'Rethinking the Engineer', and key aspect will be to explore how graduates of the many courses which now offer a sustainability dimension have utilised these new skills in their subsequent professional careers. Deadline for call for papers is January 18. It would be nice if several colleagues from KTH can participate – both for inspiration, motivation and exchange of best practices. Compilation of research calls within environment and sustainable development

Approximately every second week KTH-Sustainability distribute an excel-file with a compilation of research calls within environment and sustainable development. Included funders are Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, Swedish Energy Agency, Mistra, Formas, Vinnova, and the Swedish Research Council.
