KTH-Sustainability Research Day 2012

Do you really know what your colleagues research is about? Get an overview of the sustainable research at KTH, and learn about the latest strategies from research funders. On October 11th we gather researchers from all around KTH to join in conversations and presentations on: Research for the environment, and a sustainable brighter tomorrow. Keynote speakers includes Stefan Löfven, Leader of the Swedish Social Democratic Party and former board member of KTH, Anna Ledin, Secretary General of Formas, and Jonas Brändström, Chief Strategy Officer, Eco-Innovation at Vinnova.  An overview of the environmental and sustainable research at KTH will be presented followed by short presentations from our own researchers at KTH. This unique day is a result of the previous year event and mapping of research, done by KTH-Sustainability among others. Program and registration

New course for teachers under development

On September 24th, a course for KTH-teachers on Learning for Sustainable Development starts. The course is given by division of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at ECE-school, in close cooperation with department of Industrial Ecology at ITM-school. The course covers theories on sustainability, critical thinking, methods-, tools- and learning for sustainable development, and the integration in subject-specific courses. The course mixes lectures, individual assignments, workshops and own course development, and is a continuation course on the course Learning and Teaching, LU1. Summary of SEB’12

Over 100 delegates from 30 countries attended SEB’12  - the International Conference on Sustainability in Energy and Buildings, 3-5 September in Stockholm. The conference was organized by KTH (ICT school and CESC, supported by KTH-Sustainability) and KES International. The organizers were largely satisfied with the conference, and the content was varied and interesting. Several researchers from KTH presented current research findings (Anna Kramer, Örjan Svane), held the panel discussion (Mattias Höjer) and gave the opening keynote speech (Göran Finnveden). See pictures from the conference at CESC webpage
