Solar panels on the roof

Published May 08, 2024

In January, the work began to install more solar panels on the roof of the ABE School's office, building 43:11. With the arrival of the spring sun they will begin producing electricity.

"The solar panels are expected to produce approximately 88 MWh/year, which corresponds to the energy consumption of 4 to 5 normal-sized houses," says Helena Durgé from Akademiska Hus.

In 2023, solar panels on KTH buildings produced about 210 MWh. Including the Swedish Defence University, a total of 314 MWh/year was produced on KTH Campus in 2023.

Akademiska Hus aims to increase the proportion of solar panels on its properties on the KTH Campus. An investigation is underway regarding which roofs are suitable, while new projects will be initiated during 2024.
