Abstract

Research is simultaneously becoming more competitive and collaborative. Countries like US, China and Korea are advancing their positions by using intelligent tools to focus their strategies and efforts. A recent publication in the North Caroline Journal on Law & Technology summarizes some of the efforts in a “Counterstrategy for innovation warfare.” It includes using future oriented technology intelligence to identify possible technological futures. With this publication as a starting point Mr. Marklund will discuss the use of innovation analytics referring to results from some of Cascelotte’s recent reports:

- CRISPR/Cas9 development, astonishing research results but low measurable innovation output for Swedish companies and Swedish business initiatives.

- MedTechLabs, world class results comparable to, or exceeding, some of the very best research centers in the world, indicating that this initiative will contribute to prosperity and jobs in Sweden.

- Macroanalysis of Swedish innovation showing a downturn in relative patent value.
