WaterCentre@KTH co-hosted Hydrologidagarna

​​​​​​​Hydrologidagarna (Hydrology Days) is an annual conference arranged by members of the Swedish Hydrological Council. Hydrologidagarna 2024 was hosted by KTH, with WaterCentre@KTH forming part of the planning committee.

The conference was held at KTH Campus in Stockholm on 5 December 2024. In addition to hosting the conference, KTH was represented by a substantial number of speakers, many of them known from other WaterCentre@KTH events:

  • Anders Wörman : “Energize hydrology (Importance of quantifying hydrological processes in terms of energy)”
  • Marlon Vieira Passos : “Assessing cascading impacts of hydroclimatic hazards in Sweden”
  • Arya Preetha Vijayan : “Unravelling the legacy of historical, emerging and future groundwater pollution to the ocean”
  • Jung-Ching Kan : “Seasonal advancing heatwave prediction using machine learning approach”
  • Amir Rezvani : “Promoting Upstream-Downstream Directed Linkages in the Environment: ‘Joined-Up’ Management Perspectives”
  • Gia Destouni : “Water on land: Divergent data and space-time sensitivity to climate change”

Joakim Riml  from KTH’s Division of Resources, Energy and Infrastructure, representing the Swedish Hydrological Council, welcomed the participants.

Zahra Kalantari , WaterCentre@KTH’s director, presented the centre to the conference participants.

In addition, two speakers from Stockholm University, Anna Scaini  and Fernando Jaramillo , are also known from WaterCentre@KTH events.
