Amelie on the next step in the campus move

Published Feb 14, 2024

Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about the next steps in the relocation of our campuses.

In November, the KTH Board decided that the operations at two of our campuses, Södertälje and Kista, would be relocated to KTH Campus and Campus Flemingsberg. A first programme directive has now been decided by the President, which describes how the relocation work will be carried out.

It is a large and complex project, and in order to plan and implement the moves, a number of project groups have been formed to work on the different parts. Of greatest interest to us at the CBH school is the part that deals with the relocation of the Techincal preparatory year from Södertälje to Flemingsberg and that project group is led by Deputy Head of School Sebastiaan Meijer. This part of the project is scheduled for completion in August 2025

Although the CBH school is not directly involved in the other campus moves, the entire KTH will be affected, as it will be necessary to better utilise the premises on our remaining campuses to accommodate the activities moving from Södertälje and Kista. By leaving rental contracts in Södertälje and Kista, as well as densifying on the main campus, we hope to be able to reduce the cost of premises, which has become a very large expense item for KTH.
