Job description
The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and its partners stands at the forefront of pioneering research in integrated geospatial planning, particularly in the domains of energy, climate, and resilience of infrastructures. With a rich history of developing innovative tools to address complex societal challenges, KTH has initially created tools such as OnSSET for geospatial planning of electricity access and OnStove for geospatial planning of clean cooking access.
We are pleased to announce a new Postdoctoral position opening aimed at further advancing our integrated geospatial planning efforts and supporting target countries in addressing pressing research questions around access to electricity and clean cooking, and interactions with other resources such as climate, land and water. The postdoc will play a key role in managing and advancing the geospatial tools created at KTH, in seeking funding for expanding the energy access team at KTH, and in teaching related topics in the energy education at KTH.

Qualifications
Requirements
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
- Proven expertise in geospatial planning tools for clean cooking and electricity access
- Proven expertise in working with policy organizations on clean cooking and electricity
- Expertise in teaching energy- and geospatial planning- related topics
- Published work in energy access, and integrated resources planning
- Fluent in English language for the daily work
Preferred qualifications
- A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
- Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
In order to succeed as a postdoc at KTH you need to be goal oriented and persevering in your work. During the selection process, candidates will be assessed upon their ability to:
- independently pursue their work
- collaborate with others,
- have a professional approach and
- analyse and work with complex issues.
You should also have good knowledge of energy technology and energy systems, as well as relevant modeling techniques, such as geospatial analyses and python
Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
The position offered is for, at the most, two years.
A position as a postdoctoral fellow is a time-limited qualified appointment focusing mainly on research, intended as a first career step after a dissertation.
