Research engineer in proteomics

Job description

The HPA Alpha Cell program at the Science for Life Laboratory in Stockholm is part of the Protein Atlas project (www.proteinatlas.org) at KTH. The newly started research program works to map the protein of the human body with a focus on analyzing different parts of the human proteome. This work is crucial for knowing which proteins are expressed in human cells and tissues under different physiological conditions.

As a research engineer, you will:

  • Perform analyzes of various defined proteomes using established methods and workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of the knowledge database presented at www.proteinatlas.org.
  • Assist in work with proteomics-related experiments to deepen the understanding of proteins in the human body.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • The person we are looking for must have a completed higher education (equivalent to Master/Civil Engineer) in biotechnology or chemistry.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools and methods for analysis of proteomics data.
  • Ability to work independently and accurately with complex datasets.
  • The applicant must have previous experience in proteomics and bioinformatics.
  • We would like to see you take the initiative
  • The applicant must have good cooperation skills
  • We like to see that you are structured.
  • You should be quality conscious
  • It must be able to work independently

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with large biological databases and data integration.
  • Previous experience working with data from large-scale proteomics experiments.
  • Experience with machine learning or statistical methods for analysis of biological data.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
